Member Accounts and Access

Will I become a 4Front Member?
Yes, and we're so excited to have you.
If I have questions on the conversion date, Saturday, April 18, how do I reach a 4Front representative?
Our Charlevoix branch at 1031 May Street will be open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, for special hours.

You can also reach our communication center at 800-765-0110 or stop by an ATM with VideoTeller from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM for assistance.
I have multiple accounts at Horizon Bank. Will all my accounts be converted into 4Front accounts?
Only accounts opened and assigned to the Charlevoix Horizon Bank location will be converted into 4Front Credit Union accounts. We recommend that you confirm with Horizon which of your accounts will be converted.
Will my account information change?
Yes, you will receive all new account information (account number, debit card, HSA debit cards etc.).
Will direct deposit or automatic payments be affected?

Yes. If you have any direct deposit or automatic payments set up through your Horizon Bank account, you will need to update the information with your new 4Front account details. To get your 4Front account details, you can ask a 4Front representative for a direct deposit letter, which will include all the information you need to set this up. 

All ACH transactions will be processed using Horizon Bank information through mid-June. To ensure your electronic payments are uninterrupted, please start using your new checks, account number, and our routing number as soon as possible after April 18.

Will online banking and mobile banking remain the same?
For those already enrolled in online banking or who have downloaded the 4FrontGo app, everything will remain the same. Horizon Bank customers new to 4Front will have to enroll in our online banking and download the 4FrontGo app in the app store.
Do I need to wait until the conversion date (April 18) to join 4Front?
Our best guidance at this stage is to wait until the conversion is complete and your accounts have been fully validated. Once everything is confirmed, we'll be well-positioned to help you take those next steps.
What happens if I wait to open a 4Front account?
If you wait until the conversion date of April 18, your Horizon Bank accounts will automatically be transitioned into 4Front accounts, and you will no longer have access to your Horizon Bank account. Once the transition is complete, you will need to ensure that all your direct deposits and automatic payments are updated with your new account details to minimize any disruptions. Here’s a quick checklist of things to remember:
  • Set up your direct deposit(s) (e.g., paychecks, social security).
  • Update your automatic payments. (e.g., loan payments, utility payments, subscriptions).
  • Enroll in online banking and download the 4FrontGo app for easy future banking.
Will my money be FDIC insured? 
No, but don’t worry. Your money will now be insured by the NCUA up to $250,000.
Will I receive new checks?

Yes, we will send new checks to anyone currently using Horizon Bank checks.

We will continue to process checks using Horizon Bank information through mid-June. To ensure your checks clear uninterrupted, please start using your 4Front checks as soon as possible after April 18.

Will I receive a new debit card?

Yes, you’ll receive a new debit card. Plus, if you come in early to switch your account, you can choose from our designs and have it printed right in the branch.

If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card, you will also be receiving a new card. Please note that if you need to use your HSA debit card before you receive your new card, you will be able to request a reimbursement for the funds at a later time. 

Will I be able to use my Horizon debit card up until conversion on April 18?

Horizon Bank will be turning off debit cards on Friday, April 17, at 3:00 PM, and your new 4Front debit card will be ready to use on Saturday, April 18. Please ensure that you have an alternative form of payment during this time.

If you have an automatic payment attached to your Horizon debit card scheduled for April 17 or 18, we recommend making preparations to make the payment early.

I got a debit card printed at the branch. What should I do with the one I got in the mail?
If you stopped by a branch to get a card printed, the mailed debit card will not be valid and can be destroyed. Although the card is unusable, we still recommend shredding or cutting it to help prevent fraud.
Will I receive a new Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card?

Yes, if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card, you will also be receiving a new card. Please note that if you need to use your HSA debit card before you receive your new card, you will be able to request a reimbursement for the funds at a later time. 

Services

When is 4Front moving to the new location?
We will not be moving to the new location until we complete renovations, so the move will not take place until mid-2026.
Will there be a gap in service when 4Front moves to the new branch location?
Nope. Everything will keep running smoothly.
Will the same services be available at the new location?
Yes, everything you use today will be available after the move.
Will there be drive-thru services and/or ATMs with Videotellers?
Yes. As part of the remodel, we’re adding ATMs with VideoTellers in both the lobby and the drive-thru.
Will the branch hours be changing?
The lobby hours will not change and will remain Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. However, the ATMs with VideoTellers hours will change to Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 7:PM and Saturday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

Why is 4Front purchasing the Horizon Bank branch in Charlevoix?
As Horizon Bank exits the Charlevoix market, 4Front sees an opportunity to support local residents, businesses, and existing 4Front members by keeping trusted, relationship-based banking available right here in the community. This transition allows us to build on the relationships already in place, welcome Horizon customers and employees, and reaffirm our long-term commitment to keeping banking local in Charlevoix.
Where is the Horizon Bank branch located?
You’ll find the branch at 1425 Bridge St. in Charlevoix. We’ll be moving into the branch after the official purchase, though we’ll have some renovations to do first. Please continue using the 4Front branch at 1031 May Street.
When is 4Front moving to the Bridge St. location?
We will not be moving to the new location until we complete renovations, so the move will not take place until mid-2026.
What will happen to Horizon Bank customers?
We’ll be welcoming them to the 4Front family. Over the next several weeks, we’ll help transition their accounts and get them settled in. For help transitioning to your new 4Front account, make an appointment or stop by your local branch.
What’s going to happen to the Charlevoix Horizon Bank employees?
We are excited to welcome all the Horizon Bank employees who worked in the Charlevoix branch to our team.
Will the 4Front staff from the current branch move to the Bridge St. location once renovated?
Yep! We’ll be staffing the new branch with both existing 4Front employees and new employees we are welcoming from Horizon Bank.
How will Horizon Bank customers and 4Front members be notified of the transition?
We’ll keep both current 4Front members and incoming Horizon Bank members updated with regular communication—emails, mailings, digital updates, etc.
Where can I do my banking when the branch is closed for renovations?

The 4Front branch at 1031 May Street will remain open through renovations.

What are ATMs with VideoTellers?
Our ATMs with VideoTellers can do everything any old ATM can, plus they can virtually connect you with a 4Front representative so you can make a loan payment, reorder checks or a debit card, and much more.
Where are all the 4Front branch locations?
4Front has 20 locations across Michigan, from Sault Ste. Marie down to Zeeland.
Where are 4Front’s ATMs located?
We’re a member of the ATM Coop Network. Giving our members access to over 30,000+ surcharge-free ATMs across the nation.

What is the 4Front Foundation?

The 4Front Foundation was founded in 2021 to help bridge the gap between donors and non-profits. It’s committed to strengthening Michigan communities through awarding grants to local non-profits that align with its pillars of giving: financial relief, community building, and youth empowerment. 

In 2025, the foundation awarded $40,000 in grants to nine non-profits in our regions: northern Michigan, west Michigan, and the Upper Peninsula. The foundation also awarded four scholarships totaling $10,000 to assist individuals pursuing careers in the skilled trades. This scholarship was designed to remove financial barriers and provide meaningful financial assistance for tools, training programs, certifications, and collegiate courses.
