A little about us!

We're a member-owned financial cooperative serving over 100,000 members with 20 locations across Michigan. We pride ourselves on making banking smart and simple for our members, wherever they are on their financial journey.

Where we came from

We were born from the merger of two institutions steeped in member advocacy and locally focused service. Governmental Employees Credit Union, which would become Members Credit Union, opened its doors in 1954 in Traverse City. Three years later, Bay Winds Federal Credit Union was founded in Charlevoix as Saint Mary Catholic Credit Union.

After 60 years of serving their communities, both credit unions' volunteer boards of directors announced their shared desire to partner. Shortly after a vote of the membership, 4Front Credit Union became a reality, opening its doors as a single institution on January 2, 2015. 

Today, we represent over 70 years of serving members, sparking innovation, and growing alongside the communities we call home.
